Mission

Mother Road Theatre Company is a collaborative of theatre professionals whose mission is to enliven our artists and audiences, educate our community, and electrify New Mexico’s cultural landscape with works that engage, challenge and transform.

Vision

We share a vision in which the arts in New Mexico are central to the state’s economic stability, progress and continuing renown, particularly in the arena of professional regional theatre. Mother Road Theatre Company has the ambition to produce theatrical works comparable in production value, financial success, size and scope to other nationally successful professional theatre companies.

In a state where the film industry has an ever increasing presence, and where the arts are an inherent part of New Mexico’s identity, Mother Road Theatre Company was born to tap into this creative and entrepreneurial momentum.

Also fundamental to Mother Road’s mission is education for the community, for adults and for the children in our schools. We have successfully launched, and will continue to develop, two arts education programs:

• Avenues: our youth education program focused on literacy
• InRoads: our adult education program.

Working with successful business owners, marketing professionals, financial analysts, accountants and others of similar expertise, we are creating an exciting and strong business foundation.We have the advantage of wisdom and experience from the successful models of analogous companies, not only in New Mexico but also throughout the US and the rest of the world.

Mother Road Theatre Company expressly recognizes the magnificent talents of local artists and performers. Through the spirit of inclusion, a dedication to our art and the quality manifestation thereof, as well as educational outreach, we seek to provide a support and home for such individuals so that we all may thrive in our creative endeavors locally. We want to nurture and keep talent here, instead of having artists feel compelled to leave the state in order to find success.
